A Walk around the Golden Temple – A Guided Meditation (Parikramaa)
This poem is from page 202-203 of the book “Furmaan Khalsa: Poems to Live By” by Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji:
The Royal Court of Guru Ram Das,
Magnificent!
Harimandir,
Seat of the Immortal God.
Whoever makes an offering here
Brahma protects him
And Akal is ever his support.
The tree of Baba Siri Chand,
Where Dharma is planted
And Karma uprooted.
Bathing at the Dukh Bhanjan tree
Brings liberation, compassion, freedom and joy.
Singing the Arti of Baba Attal
God will always be your friend.
Bowing to Mata Kaulan
God’s Divine Knowledge and Love well up inside you.
Coming to the seat of Baba Deep Singh
All the Martyrs come to serve you.
Arriving at the place of the Lachee Ber
You are blessed with God’s Service and the gift of giving
Bowing, and entering the Harimandir
Where Siri Guru Granth is enthroned
Sip the Amrit from God’s own stairs
Comfort and Joy come and fill your soul.
Bow your forehead at the Akal Takhat
Divine Understanding comes and all karmas are paid.
The Flags of the Guru are Glorious!
Guru Hargobind offers liberation.
Coming to Baba Buddha’s tree
All your desires are instantly fulfilled.
Completing the walk around the Harimandir,
Bow your head,
And Guru Ram Das becomes your protector.
Whoever performs this meditation
Shall be blessed by God with liberation and Indescribable Joy.
