24 Hour Guru Ram Das Chanting

Volunteer to Lead Live Chanting on October 8-9, 2022
The Global Sangat is invited to lead the global community in 30 minutes of chanting to celebrate the birth of Guru Ram Das ji on the Sikh Dharma International Zoom account for 24 hours leading up to Guru Ram Das’s birthday on October 9, 2022. This event will take place from 2:00 p.m. MDT on October 8 to 2:00 p.m. MDT on October 9.
Hosting chanting is simple. Just follow the steps below:
- Click on the Calendly link to select a time slot that works for you to host chanting.
- Select either the mantra “Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru” or the Shabad “Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur, Jin Siria Tinay Savaria” to play for 30 minutes. You can either play live music if you are a musician, or share a pre-recorded version to stream through Zoom if you are not. Either way is great. The main purpose is to gather in community! We provide links to various recorded versions of both options below that work well.
- When it is time for your chanting time to start, join the Zoom meeting, and begin playing “Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru” or “Dhan Dhan Ram Das Gur, Jin Siria Tinay Savaria” for 30 minutes.
