Furmaan Khalsa

There are Four Minds and Four Covers.

True Friends speak of Truth.
They live as Soldier-Saints,
Always ready to Sacrifice,
Overflowing with Love,
Their Kundalini Rises!

Prana nourishes the Ida and Pingala.
The Shushmana is the Road to the Realm of Raj Yoga.
What Incredible Beauty!
God is Unfolding Everywhere!
The Crown Lotus Blossoms!
Oh! Treasure of Formlessness!

Meditate on God right Now!
And even if you’ve wasted your past in pursuit of Maya,
You can know the Future.

Settling the breath at the third eye point,
Energy flows through the Ida and Pingala,
The Shushmana is energized,
The Thousand Petalled Lotus turns,
And Nectar trickles from the Realm of Brahm.

Such a Gursikh is Liberated!

I am the Dog of the Guru,
While they are the dogs of the status-seekers.

I bark vigilantly all night and day,
While they lie sleeping, lazily.

They sniff from door to door, begging for votes,
Telling everyone what great spiritual leaders they are.

By praising their own empty words, they mock the Body
of the Panth,
For they have never done even the tiniest honest job
for the Panth.

The Command of the Khalsa is to live the Rehit!

The Perfect Khalsa has learned this.

The technology of the Rehit belongs to the Khalsa who lives it

And becomes one with the Perfect Guru.

The Command of the Khalsa has been given by God.

The Gurmantra has been placed within our hearts.

Obedience is the way to Reality.

Only those who live the Rehit are liberated.

The Command of the Khalsa is the very Spirit of the Khalsa,

And its daily practice is the Way of the Khalsa.

This poem is published in Furmaan Khalsa, a collection of 108 poems written originally in Gurmukhi by Yogi Bhajan. Gurmukhi is a language in which each word contains the vibratory essence of its meaning. He requested that they be translated into English for future generations.

Sadh Sangat means the company of disciplined spiritual people. Sadh comes from Sadhu (a Sadhu is one who does Sadhana), and Sangat means a group of people gathered together for a purpose. The best translation of Sadh Sangat is “the company of people who do Sadhana” or “the company of the holy.”

The principle of Sadh Sangat is simple. When people who do Sadhana come together, the group aura is very powerful and this stimulates the meditative energy of all, and produces an uplifting and inspiring atmosphere. Coming together in community to do Sadhana, kirtan, meditation, and yoga, enhances the effects of all for all.
