Thank You—A Poem by Yogi Bhajan
Breath of life, working through,
Spinning through the body and creating the vibration
From time immemorial to future generations.
Seed of the man, beads of the rosary,
Individual magnitude and nature’s reality.
They meet or conflict, but life is built.
Some go fulfilled, some go empty.
Some understand life’s reality.
This coming and going is all the Lord’s show.
Nobody is weak. Nobody is strong.
No one is right and no one is wrong.
The show goes on.
Those who touch Guru Ram Das find a path of self-excellence,
Prosperity, peace and the deepest reverence.
Walking on this path, I thank You, O God.
I know what you meant:
Making me walk on the path of understanding.
Making me walk on the path of Infinity.
Understanding life—secure in Divinity.
You gave me the chance. You gave me the grace.
You gave me the life to serve the human race.
I am grateful in gratitude that Thy will is done.
The Khalsa Nation will live prosperous and courageous
Like the shining sun.
You are the Guru of healers. You are the Guru of grace.
You are the Guru of prosperity for the whole human race.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you once again
For the prosperous grace and the Oneness I attained
With you, Oh Lord, my Guru and God.
Thank you for peace of mind,
Stopping karma’s constant grind.
Thank you for the prayer, beautiful and bountiful,
This blissful experience which I share with all.
May we all understand. May we all grow.
May we share the ecstasy of the spiritual rainbow.
Sun and moon and all the stars
Delightful and faithful chanting “Ek Ong Kaar,”
Praising the Lord and praising His creation,
Blessing me and rejoicing in the Guru’s generation.
One Lord created the human race
To live in love on earth in space.
Guru Ram Das heals all of our wrongs.
With a princely touch I sing his songs
To let you know what I know,
To let you feel what I feel.
Meditate! Meditate! Guru Ram Das shall heal!
He will grant us prosperity and excellent bliss.
And we’ll feel God’s love and the Guru’s kiss.
Thank you for guiding me to the One,
For granting the experience to this humble son.
Bountiful, blissful, Oh beautiful One–
Guiding with Thy hand this humble son
To serve others, as I see the All,
With wonderful joy, as I listen to the call
