This poem is from page 36-37 of the book  “Furmaan Khalsa: Poems to Live By” by Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji:

Many people use drugs to alter their consciousness.
Immersed in the world of their senses,
They claim to be Yogis.

Riding each beat of my heart up and down,
Oh, my Love!
We are sitting across from each other.

My final supports are remembering you,
And the grace of my own high thoughts,
Without God’s Name, how could I get across?

If you’re busy making Love with God,
Why would you want to take drugs?

Oh, Yogi! Teach your own mind
To meditate on God’s Name
Over and over!

Siri Singh Sahib ~ Yogi Bhajan: The saint, the teacher, the humanitarian, the leader. Within these pages of “Furmaan Khalsa” lies a manual of conscious living written in the form of 108 luminous and inspiring poems. Based on the science of human consciousness called Raj Yog and written as a guide for future generations, these poems answer questions on how to live successfully with an open heart and mind amidst the challenges of the modern world.
